Dr. Sepideh Zarani joined Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons at the beginning of 2013.
She started her optometric practice after completing a residency program in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center (which is ranked the 2nd top optometry residency program in the nation) in 2011. Dr. Zarani is one of fewer than 5% of optometrists nationwide to have completed a hospital-based residency program in ocular disease. She is certified in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic agents for treating various ocular diseases. She received her doctorate of optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2010. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and Maryland State Board of Optometry.
Dr. Zarani is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, Maryland Optometric Association, and Maryland Young OD Group. She has presented research at major academic and professional meetings including SECO International, and has lectured at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Zarani’s skills include providing comprehensive eye examinations, single-vision and multifocal contact lens fittings, pre- and post-operative care for various ocular surgeries including laser vision correction and corneal crosslinking, diabetic eye exams, management of ocular emergencies, and co-management of glaucoma.
