A third generation ophthalmologist, Dr. Amy Zimmerman brings more than 17 years of eye-care experience to the practice. Dr. Zimmerman graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed an internship in internal medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). She then went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland Medical System where she served as Chief Resident from 1993 to 1994.

Dr. Zimmerman currently heads the ophthalmology rotation for the Franklin Square Family Medicine Residents, and  serve as the ophthalmologist to the Eye Clinic at Stella Maris Nursing Home. She is also on staff at the University of Maryland Medical System, Baltimore VA Medical Center and Eye Surgery Center of White Marsh. Dr. Zimmerman is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Medical System and the Baltimore VA Medical Center where she teaches cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents.

Throughout the years, Dr. Zimmerman's work has appeared in the American Journal of Ophthalmology. A Baltimore magazine Top Doc in ophthalmology, Dr. Zimmerman resides in Crownsville, Maryland, just outside Annapolis with her husband and two young boys.
